The Verandah in
Edinburgh is so cozy...
The Verandah in Edinburgh is so cozy and romantic. Well, maybe not all
that romantic but it's cozy, well decorated, and friendly service. But above all - great food. My sister
and I came here for dinner my first night in Edinburgh. We took a chance on Verandah and glad we
did. The food here is freshly prepared and cooked which I loved. I ordered the Bangladeshi Shatkora lamb
with pulao rice. The lamb pieces in the dish were not fatty but very tender. Overall a good dish. Sissy
got the Methi gosht which I wish I would have gotten. It was cooked perfectly and the sauce was light but
filling. A great dining experience.

What have Sir Cliff Richard, Clint Eastwood and Imran Khan got in common?
The answer is that they all eat at The Verandah when they visit Edinburgh. Right from the
start, by rejecting red flock wallpaper and hot curries for a popular ...
Great Indian food
The vegetable pakora was delicious, served with a great yogurt sauce
with a one of a kind taste. The owner was not going to give out any hints on the ingredients
though. "Yogurt and Mint and a bunch more" was all he'd say. Chicken Vindaloo wasn't on the menu,
but they do serve it. It was properly spicy, though to my American taste, it could use a pinch
more salt. Saag Paneer was excellent, the best I've had. The spinach was not as pureed as I'm
used to back in the States, but that made it only better. The Paneer was nice and soft, a sign
that it's not old. The Dal was very good as well. Wonderfully, I don't have the typical heavy
feeling that I usually get when I eat Indian food. It was fairly late on a Thursday, and there
were only a couple other tables. This allowed me to talk a little bit with the owner, and get a
recommendation on another item to try on the menu when I return in a few days.

delicious Indian food
"We have never tasted such delicious Indian food in a long time.
The starter was light and aromatic, the flavours in all the sauces tasted fresh. The main
course was fantastic. It's the first time we have had a meal where we feel pleasantly full.
Service was excellent and the atmosphere was pleasant."

I ordered the most delicious
meal
I've never written one of these review things before but
today felt compelled! I've been visiting Verandah for years and always order
the same dish. This time I ordered the Bangladeshi Shatkora chicken I felt I hadn't
been eating very healthily for a few days so thought I'd indulge in something a
little different. Cant recommend it highly enough. I ordered the most delicious meal.
I absolutely enjoyed my meal, service was brilliant and incredibly swift.. Waiters
are very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Nice atmosphere, lovely decor and warm
atmosphere.

first visit and I was
impressed
I visited Verandah with my family last
weekend. It was our first visit and I was impressed with the food, service
and ambiance. For the quality of the dishes and the location it is very
reasonably priced. The staff were accommodating but at the same time not
overbearing. A great discovery – we will be back!
